The Perfect Autumn Dress

I have found it. I’ve been searching far and wide for it all month, and I have finally hunted it down. You know what I’m talking about, don’t you? The Perfect Autumn Dress.
There’s something about wearing a dress with bare legs and boots that I look forward to all year round, and there’s only really one time a year you can get away with wearing it. Autumn could possibly be my favourite time of year, purely because of this look that I love styling. Although, that is a tough call to make – I love Spring floral dresses, Summer denim shorts, and Winter woolly jumpers! But this style is definitely one of my favourites.
The trouble is, it’s all about finding the perfect Autumn dress. Nothing too Summery, otherwise you’ll be looking like you’re bereaving Summer, nothing too Wintery or you’ll be sick and tired of Winter clothes by the time it eventually reaches us. And don’t even get me started on what to pair the dress with once you’ve finally found that perfect Autumn dress!
I chose OTK (over-the-knee) boots from Stuart Weitzman that are my most prized possession – after lusting after these 50/50 boots I finally gave in and bought them last Winter. I have struggled for years to find boots that fit my legs, and these ones hug my legs perfectly due to the elasticated back. They’re also incredibly comfortable because of the half sizes that are available. I completed the whole outfit with a bright red tote from Kurt Geiger.
The dress is from Urban Outfitters. It is loose fitting and covered in a deep red pattern with ‘cold shoulders’. Online you’ll find it describes it as a tunic top and looks more like a top on the model, however as you can see, it works perfectly as a dress and isn’t too short at all. I went a little boho with my hairstyle with a french braid starting at the top and continuing all down one side.
Now I can strut down the streets of Brighton wearing my perfect Autumn dress.
