Tanya’s Cafe | This Weeks Eats
How do we feel about me starting a weekly blog post where I chat about a favourite place that I’ve eaten at that week? Now I’m in London there are endless choices of places to eat out and although I’ve only been living here for 2 weeks I feel I have already found some new favourite places.
One of those places being Tanya’s Cafe in Chelsea. It’s a fully raw restaurant and superfood cocktail bar serving delicious food and healthy cocktails. Even if you’re not into raw food, I guarantee you’ll find something you’ll love. The flavours in all the dishes are so plentiful I couldn’t quite believe it was all raw. And of course it’s all good for you!

I took Marcus along for an evening out. We started things off with a Superfood Cocktail each. I chose the Baobab Chicawawa (mainly because of the name!), and Marcus went for the Maple Maori. Both were amazing and we couldn’t decide which one we preferred.

While we picked a main from the menu, we nibbled on a selection of starters. The first is Nachos with Guacamole, which I could’ve easily munched on all night!
The second is Cheesy Kale Chips. Obviously being a fully raw restaurant, there was no real cheese on these but oh my did they taste cheesy!
And lastly some Coconut Jerky, which tasted like bacon and were so delicious and moreish.
The place has a lovely cosy feel to it, almost like a chic greenhouse full of beautiful plants and industrial lightbulbs. And I’ve never felt so welcome from such friendly staff.
There were many things on the menu I wanted to order but I eventually chose the Tacos. Every aspect of the dish was bursting with different spices and flavours from the walnut oyster mushroom filling to the pineapple salsa and sour cream.
I couldn’t help steal a few mouthfuls of Marcus’ Buckwheat Gnocchi too! It looked absolutely beautiful on the plate.

It’s not everyday you have the choice of a superfood cocktail so we ordered another one each, this time trying the Weightless Kick and the Pinch Me. Both again were delicious.

But we definitely saved the best until last.
The whole evening I’d been eyeing up the desserts that were being served around us and I made sure to save enough room for them. We had a peak in the dessert fridge to choose one but they all looked so good we decided to get the Dessert Platter – don’t judge us, it was a healthy meal, ok!
All I can say is wow.
My favourite was the Blueberry Cheesecake. I’ve always been a sucker for cheesecake but since being vegan it’s something I’ve had to sacrifice – until now that is. I wouldn’t know the difference between a normal indulgent cheesecake and this healthy raw cheesecake (apart from not feeling guilty about it afterwards!).
Marcus couldn’t stop talking about the chocolate cake and after we gobbled both of those down we had to take the energy balls and chocolates home for later because we had well and truly stuffed ourselves.
If you’ve been searching for a raw restaurant or if you’re simply interested in trying raw food I would highly recommend checking this place out. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
